Public Darshan Cancelled at Meenakshi Amman Temple – July 13 and 14

It has been officially announced that public darshan at the world-famous Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai will be suspended from 6 PM on July 13 to the night of July 14.

Reason:
This decision is related to the Kumbha Abhishekam ceremony taking place at the Tirupparangunram Subramaniya Swamy Temple. On July 14, during this event, the Panchamoorthis (the five main idols) will be brought in procession from Tirupparangunram to the temple. As a result, the main entrance of the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple will be closed from 6 PM on July 13 to the night of July 14.

Public Access:

  • Public darshan will be suspended from 6 PM on July 13 to the night of July 14.
  • On July 14, devotees will only be allowed access to the Art Gallery and Annadhanam Hall.
  • Those who had previously booked for marriage ceremonies will only be allowed to proceed up to the Vanni Marathadi Vinayagar Temple via the Aadi Streets.

Afterwards:
From the early hours of July 15, the public will be allowed to visit the temple for darshan as usual.
