Power Supply Suspended in Multiple Madurai Areas

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced a scheduled power shutdown across several parts of Madurai district from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow due to essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrade works, a move that will affect major residential, commercial, institutional and rural areas, disrupting daily life, business operations, healthcare services, educational activities and agricultural routines across both the city and surrounding regions.

Areas Affected by Power Shutdown:
Key localities within Madurai city including Mattuthavani, Lake Area, KK Nagar, Industrial Estate, Anna Nagar, 80 Feet Road, Vaigai Colony East, Housing Board, Ramvarma Nagar, Pudur, Melamadai, Alagarkoil Road, Kodikulam, Managiri, Subbiah Meenakshi Mission Hospital, Fruit Market, Paddy Commercial Complex, Anna Bus Stand, Collectorate, Gandhi Museum, Corporation Office, Tallakulam, Tamukkam, Yanaikkal, Narimedu and Anna Nagar North.

In Melur region, power supply will be suspended in Melur town, Milk Gate Venkatesh Nagar, Sandhaipettai, Sivagangai Road, Ulaganathapuram, Perumalpatty, Kottakudi, Sathiyapuram, Vinayagapuram, Gandhi Nagar, Nagalingapuram, Vannamparaipatti, Navinipatti, Pathinettangudi and nearby villages.

Othakadai areas including Othakadai, Narasingam, Agricultural College, Ammappatti, Veerapanchan, Karuppayurani, Thirumohur, Perungudi, Kadha Kinaru, Kadachanenthal, Jangit Nagar, Azhagar Garden and Sundararajanpatti will also face power disruption.

Vadipatti region will see outages in Vadipatti town, Poochampatti, Kachaikatti, Kulasekarankottai, Viralipatti, Sokkalingapuram, Thathampatti, Bodinaickanpatti, Ellaiyur, Thirumalnatham, Alangottaram, Kallupatti, Andipatti Bungalow and all areas receiving supply from Vadipatti substation.

Additionally, Thirumangalam and surrounding areas such as Jawahar Nagar, NGO Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Pandian Nagar, Kala Nagar, Maravankulam, Chithalai, Sathankudi, Melakottai and Karadikal will be affected.

Electricity Board officials have advised residents and establishments to make necessary arrangements in advance and cooperate with the maintenance work, assuring that power supply will be restored promptly after completion.
