Following the tragic crowd crush incident in Karur, legal action has been initiated against several administrators of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.
Notably, key party functionaries such as Bussy Anand and Nirmal Kumar have had FIRs registered against them. The Karur district TVK secretary has already been arrested by the police. However, Bussy Anand, considered a prime accused in the case, has gone missing since the day of the incident, and his whereabouts have remained unknown since September 27. In response, five special police teams have been formed and are actively searching for him.
Amidst these developments, Bussy Anand, Nirmal Kumar, and others have filed pre-arrest bail petitions, which are scheduled for hearing today at the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court. Alongside these, a public interest litigation seeking a ban on the TVK party has also been filed, bringing the total number of petitions up for hearing today to seven.
