Changes in Vaigai, Guruvayur Express and Other Trains – New Announcement from Railways!

Due to scheduled maintenance work in the southern districts, train services including the Vaigai Express will be altered from October 15 to October 28, according to an official statement from Southern Railway.

Tiruchirapalli railway division officer Mr. Vinoth stated the following changes:

πŸš† Altered Train Routes and Schedules:

  • Sengottai – Mayiladuthurai Express
    On October 16, 17, 18, and 22, the train departing from Sengottai at 6:55 AM will be operated via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, and Tiruchirappalli instead of its usual route, due to maintenance in the Madurai railway division.
  • Nagercoil – Mumbai Express
    On October 23 and 26, this train will also run via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, and Karaikudi.
  • Kanniyakumari – Howrah Express
    To be diverted via the same route (Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi) on the above dates.
  • Guruvayur – Chennai Express
    On October 15, 16, 17, 21, and 22, the train will be diverted via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, and Tiruchirappalli.
  • Vaigai Express (Chennai Egmore – Madurai)
    • On October 25, the train departing from Chennai at 1:45 PM will have a 40-minute unscheduled halt at an intermediate station.
    • On October 28, it will have a 30-minute halt at a specified point.
  • Chennai Egmore – Thoothukudi Special Express
    • On October 28, the train will depart at 12:30 PM from Chennai and will have a 110-minute unscheduled halt at an intermediate station.

⚠️ Passenger Advisory:

Due to ongoing maintenance work, several train services will be diverted or delayed. Passengers are advised to check schedules in advance and plan their travel accordingly.
