Chief Minister M.K. Stalin Admitted to Apollo Hospital Following Mild Dizziness Brother M.K. Alagiri Visits to Inquire About His Health

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road, Chennai, after experiencing mild dizziness. He is currently undergoing treatment. In a significant development, his elder brother and former Union Minister, M.K. Alagiri, visited the hospital in person to check on Stalin’s health. He was accompanied by their sibling M.K. Tamilarasu.

Stalin, who is 70 years old, maintains a daily routine of walking and physical exercise. However, during his morning walk yesterday, he reportedly felt light-headed and was immediately taken to the hospital. While it was initially stated to be a routine check-up, further details revealed that the hospital visit was due to the dizziness episode.

Stalin is currently accompanied by his wife Durga Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister and son Udhayanidhi Stalin, and daughter Senthamarai Sabareesan at the hospital.

Several national and state leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, inquired about the Chief Minister’s health. State ministers like Duraimurugan and Ma. Subramanian also visited the hospital to check on him in person.

In a statement released by Apollo Hospital, it was mentioned:

“Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has been advised three days of rest by doctors. He will also undergo a few medical tests during his stay at the hospital and will continue to carry out his official duties from there.”

The unexpected visit of M.K. Alagiri — who was expelled from the DMK in 2014 — to see his younger brother has stirred political interest. The two had reportedly maintained minimal direct contact in recent years. This visit is now being seen as a possible sign of renewed familial ties.

Earlier, Stalin had visited Alagiri’s son, Durai Dayanidhi, when he was receiving treatment in Vellore CMC. Also, Alagiri’s family was invited to Udhayanidhi’s swearing-in ceremony as Minister, signaling a slow warming of relations between the two families.

Alagiri’s personal visit during this time has raised questions — is it merely concern over Stalin’s health, or the beginning of a restored family bond?
