Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid homage to freedom fighter and former MP Pasumpon muthuramalinga thevar on the occasion of his 118th birth anniversary and 63rd Guru Pooja.
At Gorippalayam in Madurai, the Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Thevar and paid floral tribute to his portrait placed nearby.
Following this, Mr. Stalin also garlanded the statues of the Maruthu Pandiyar brothers at Teppakulam and offered his respects.
The Thevar Jayanthi and Guru Pooja celebrations began on October 28 at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district, with traditional Oduvar hymns, Ganapathi Homam, Vedic chanting by Sivacharyas, and special Laksharchanai prayers. The three-day event has been organized as a state government function.
Accompanying the Chief Minister were Ministers P. Moorthy, Palanivel Thiagarajan, Thangam Thennarasu, MP Kanimozhi, and several MLAs and officials who also paid their respects.
After the event, Chief Minister Stalin proceeded by road to Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to provide security during his visit.
