Education Officials Monitor SSLC Exams Closely

The Class 10 public examination commenced on Wednesday across Madurai Revenue District, with a total of 37,496 students appearing for the Tamil language paper on the first day. The district, which includes the Madurai and Melur educational districts, witnessed large numbers of students arriving at examination centres early in the morning. Officials stated that the examination was conducted smoothly across the district under strict monitoring and supervision.

Participation and Examination Centres

Madurai Revenue District, Madurai Educational District, Melur Educational District, 139 examination centres established across the district.
214 government schools, 84 government-aided schools, 181 private schools, totaling 479 institutions.
19,003 boys and 19,103 girls, making a total of 38,106 candidates registered for the Class 10 public examination.
For the Tamil paper held on Wednesday, 18,574 boys and 18,922 girls, totaling 37,496 students, appeared for the examination.
A total of 428 boys and 179 girls, making 607 candidates, were absent for the exam.
Three candidates were granted exemption due to medical or other valid reasons.

A significant number of students had registered for the SSLC examination in Madurai district this year. Authorities ensured that all examination centres were adequately equipped and prepared for the smooth conduct of the exams. Students arrived at the centres well in advance and followed the prescribed examination guidelines.

To maintain transparency and discipline, strict monitoring arrangements were implemented at all examination centres. Education department officials closely supervised the proceedings to ensure adherence to rules. Flying squad teams conducted surprise inspections at various centres to check whether examination protocols were being followed.

Private Candidates

474 male candidates and 171 female candidates, totaling 645, had registered as private candidates.
Among them, 447 male candidates and 165 female candidates appeared for the examination.
A total of 33 private candidates were absent.
One private candidate was granted exemption.

District Chief Educational Officer S. Dayalan, along with District Educational Officers Senthilkumar and Ganesan, supervised the arrangements while flying squad officials carried out intensive monitoring across examination centres to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.
