  • A woman named Nikita from Madurai visited the temple and handed her car keys to Ajithkumar, asking him to park it in the shade.
  • Later, she reported that 10 sovereigns of gold jewelry and ₹2,200 cash were missing from her bag.
• Ajithkumar and 4 others were arrested.
  While the others were released, Ajithkumar was taken separately for interrogation by the special police.
• June 28:
  • Ajithkumar died due to assault by special task force police.
