Due to ongoing flyover construction in Thirumangalam, Madurai district, dust is spreading across the Airport Road, causing severe difficulties for drivers and the public.
The new flyover construction, starting near the Devar statue and extending to the Agricultural Extension Center through Kamarajapuram, is in progress. Service roads are also being built alongside. During the construction, the existing tar layer of the road was removed, leaving the stretch full of potholes and uneven surfaces.
With heavy vehicles like lorries passing frequently, thick dust clouds rise, making the road hazardous. Residents of Kamarajapuram and Karpaganagar areas are suffering from allergies, breathing problems, and asthma due to constant dust exposure.
Locals have urged authorities to complete the flyover work quickly and take measures to control dust pollution along the route.
