In view of the upcoming Diwali festival, the Madurai district administration has announced that those who wish to sell firecrackers can apply for a temporary license.
The license will be issued under the Explosives Act, 1884, and Explosives Rules, 2008 (Section 84). Applications must be submitted online through e-Sevai centers on or before September 20, 2025.
Important:
Applications submitted after September 20 will not be accepted, the district administration has confirmed.
