The annual Taila Kaappu (Oil Anointing) festival of Sundararaja Perumal at Madurai Alagar Malai was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur on November 2, 2025, at the Noopura Ganga Theertham.
As part of the festival, the sacred Taila Kaappu (anointing with holy oil) was performed for the deity at the Rakkayi Amman Temple situated on the hilltop, followed by the ritual holy bath (Theertha Snanam) at Noopura Ganga.
The key highlights of this event included the sacred oil application (Taila Kaappu) and the holy water ablution (Thirumanjanam) performed to the deity in traditional style. Thousands of devotees participated in the festival and received divine blessings.
The festival was organized by the Madurai Alagar Malai Devasthanam and was successfully completed with all traditional rituals conducted in a grand and orderly manner.
