Madurai Teacher Transfer Counselling Schedule Released

The general transfer counselling schedule for headmasters, teachers, wardens and female wardens working in government Kallar schools across Madurai, Theni and Dindigul districts has been announced for the 2026-2027 academic year. The counselling will be conducted through the Education Management Information System (EMIS) on September 2 and 3 at Ilango Municipal Higher Secondary School in Madurai, based on vacancies available as of July 1, 2026. The Madurai Kallar Reclamation Joint Director’s office has issued the schedule, while the dates for postgraduate teachers and high school headmasters are yet to be announced.

Government Kallar primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools functioning under the administrative control of the Madurai Kallar Reclamation Joint Director’s office are covered under the newly announced transfer counselling process.

The transfer counselling for higher secondary school headmasters is scheduled to be held on September 2. On the same day, the zero counselling process for Assistant Elementary Education Officers and Circle Supervisors will also be conducted.

Middle school headmasters are likewise scheduled to participate in the transfer counselling on September 2. The first day of the programme will therefore cover several categories of administrative and school leadership personnel.

A wider range of teaching and hostel staff categories will be covered during the counselling scheduled for September 3. Graduate teachers will participate in subject-wise transfer counselling, while separate counselling will also be conducted for graduate wardens and female wardens.

Primary school headmasters, secondary grade teachers, secondary grade wardens and female wardens are also included in the September 3 schedule. Special teachers, including physical education teachers and drawing teachers, will participate in the transfer counselling on the same day.

The general transfer counselling is being organised through the EMIS platform and will be based on vacancies recorded as of July 1, 2026. Eligible employees are expected to follow the schedule applicable to their respective categories while participating in the counselling process.

The announcement covers government Kallar schools functioning in the three districts of Madurai, Theni and Dindigul under the relevant administrative structure. The category-wise schedule is intended to organise the transfer process for different groups of educational and hostel personnel.

However, the present notification does not specify the counselling date for postgraduate teachers, for whom the transfer process is expected to be conducted subject-wise. The date for high school headmasters has also not been included in the current schedule.

The administration has confirmed that the transfer counselling dates for postgraduate teachers and high school headmasters will be announced separately at a later stage.
