Madurai to Hold Ration Grievance Camp Tomorrow

The Madurai district administration has announced that a Public Distribution System (PDS) grievance redressal camp will be conducted tomorrow to address issues related to ration card services and essential commodity distribution. The camp will be held at the offices of the Civil Supplies Tahsildar and Taluk Supply Offices from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It aims to provide residents with a single-window platform to submit applications, seek corrections, and register grievances concerning PDS services. Officials said the initiative is intended to improve service delivery and ensure faster resolution of public complaints.

During the camp, citizens can apply for new family ration cards, request the addition or deletion of family members, correct personal details, change residential addresses, and apply for duplicate ration cards. Applications for registering or updating mobile phone numbers linked to ration cards will also be accepted to facilitate better communication and digital service delivery.

In addition to ration card-related services, members of the public may submit complaints regarding deficiencies in goods and services sold in the private market wherever applicable under the relevant grievance mechanism. Authorities have advised applicants to carry the necessary supporting documents to ensure that their requests can be processed without unnecessary delay. The camp forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to make public distribution services more accessible and citizen-friendly.
