Due to the ongoing ₹1,500 crore redevelopment work at Chennai Egmore Railway Station, several express trains that usually depart from Egmore will be temporarily operated from Tambaram and Chennai Beach stations, according to a press release from Southern Railway.
As part of the station’s modernization, all 11 platforms at Egmore are being renovated, and a grand skywalk is also being constructed for easy passenger movement. To facilitate these works, changes in train operations have been made.
To facilitate major redevelopment works at Chennai Egmore, including platform upgrades and passenger amenities, train departures are being temporarily shifted.
