To ease the Christmas and New Year holiday rush, the South Western Railway has announced special train services. As part of this plan, a special New Year train will operate from Mysuru to Thoothukudi via Madurai, bringing great relief to long-distance travellers.
Train No. 06283 (Mysuru → Thoothukudi)
This special train will depart from Mysuru at 6:35 PM on December 23 and 27.
It will pass through Bengaluru, Salem, and Karur, reach Madurai at 8:00 AM, and finally arrive in Thoothukudi at 11:00 AM the next day.
Return Service – Train No. 06284 (Thoothukudi → Mysuru)
The return service will leave Thoothukudi at 2:00 PM on December 24 and 28, reaching Mysuru via Madurai.
The train is equipped with AC coaches, sleeper coaches, and general compartments for passenger convenience.
It will halt at key stations including Mandya, Ramanagara, Bengaluru, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Kovilpatti.
This service is expected to greatly benefit passengers traveling to South Tamil Nadu during the festive season, making New Year travel easier and more comfortable.
