Overnight Darshan at Meenakshi Amman Temple

The Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple administration has announced that devotees will be permitted to have darshan throughout the night on February 15 in connection with the Maha Shivaratri festival, during which four special kala poojas will be performed separately at the Meenakshi Amman and Swami sanctums, followed by early morning rituals extending till dawn.

Maha Shivaratri Festival Details:
Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Amman Sanctum, Swami Sanctum, Old Chokkanathar Temple, Teppakulam Muktheeswarar Temple, Sellur Thiruvappudaiyar Temple.

Pooja Schedule – Amman Sanctum:
First kala pooja at 10.00 pm,
Second kala pooja at 11.00 pm,
Third kala pooja at 12.00 midnight,
Fourth kala pooja at 1.00 am.

Pooja Schedule – Swami Sanctum:
First kala pooja at 11.00 pm,
Second kala pooja at 12.00 midnight,
Third kala pooja at 1.00 am,
Fourth kala pooja at 2.00 am.

Subsequent Rituals and Arrangements:
Artha Jama pooja at 3.00 am,
Palliarai pooja at 4.00 am,
Thiruvanandal pooja at 5.00 am,
Special abhishekam and alankara poojas throughout the night at sub-temples,
Night-long darshan permitted for devotees.

Devotees willing to offer materials for the four kala abhishekam, including milk, curd, tender coconut, paneer, honey and ghee, have been requested to hand them over at the temple internal office or the respective sub-temples by the evening of February 15.

The temple administration stated that comprehensive security, crowd management and basic facilities are being arranged jointly with the police department to ensure the smooth conduct of the Maha Shivaratri festival and the safety of devotees.
