Passengers Alert 6 Trains Diverted in Madurai Division

Indian Railways has announced that six major trains passing through the Dindigul route will be diverted between March 19 and March 25 due to ongoing track maintenance works in the Madurai division. The move aims to ensure passenger safety, track stability, and smooth train operations, officials said.

The maintenance works include crack repairs, strengthening of railway tracks, ballast refilling, and upgrading signaling systems. These measures are being undertaken to address wear and tear caused by temperature variations and to maintain operational safety standards.

Affected Trains and Routes:
Madurai, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Manapparai, Vaiyampatti, Cholavandan, Vadamadurai, Virudhunagar regions,
Sengottai-Mayiladuthurai Express, Nagercoil-Mumbai CSMT Express, Kanyakumari-Howrah Express, Guruvayur-Chennai Express, Hyderabad Special Train, Velankanni Weekly Train,
Route diversion, avoidance of Dindigul section, alternate routing via interior stations,
Diversion through Manamadurai, Sivagangai, Karaikudi, Pudukkottai, reaching Tiruchirappalli.

The Sengottai-Mayiladuthurai Express will run on a diverted route from March 20 to 24, while the Nagercoil-Mumbai CSMT Express will be diverted on March 22. The Kanyakumari-Howrah Express will follow an alternate route on March 21. Similarly, the Guruvayur-Chennai Express will be diverted from March 19 to 22.

The Hyderabad special train and the Velankanni weekly train will also avoid the Dindigul route and operate via alternate paths during the specified dates.

Railway authorities have urged passengers planning to travel via Dindigul to check schedules in advance and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
