Former Minister and senior AIADMK leader Sellur K. Raju visited the renowned Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple today to offer prayers ahead of the upcoming “Ezhuchi Payanam” (Rising Journey) led by AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), scheduled to take place in September.

Speaking to the media after the temple visit, Sellur Raju highlighted the achievements of EPS’s previous administration, listing various development initiatives implemented under his leadership.

The “Ezhuchi Payanam” is set to take place on September 1, 2, and 3 in Madurai, and is expected to be a grand political event aimed at energizing party cadres and strengthening the AIADMK ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Sellur Raju particularly emphasized the Mullai Periyar Combined Drinking Water Scheme, introduced during EPS’s tenure, which has ensured uninterrupted 24-hour water supply to Madurai city.

He praised EPS as a visionary leader under whose guidance Tamil Nadu saw notable progress across several sectors.

The “Ezhuchi Payanam” is widely viewed as a strategic move to consolidate party support and gear up for the forthcoming general elections.
