Based on the success of the typing training programme introduced at the Government College Girls’ Hostel in Melur, Madurai District Collector K. J. Praveen Kumar has announced that the scheme will be extended to all government college girls’ hostels in the district.
On Wednesday, at the Social Justice Hostel for Government College Girls in Melur Taluk, a typing training class was inaugurated under the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
Speaking at the event, Collector Praveen Kumar said:
“Last week, students requested arrangements for learning Tamil and English typing in this hostel. Prompt action was taken to fulfil this request.
It is highly beneficial to acquire typing skills while still in college. Not everyone gets the opportunity to undergo such training at their place of stay. Therefore, students here should make the best use of this opportunity,” he said.
The Collector further announced:
“Based on the success achieved here, steps will be taken to introduce typing training in all Social Justice Girls’ Hostels across the district.”
