The Madurai Corporation is organizing a “Food Festival” from July 12 to 14, which will be open to the public free of charge. The event will take place at the Corporation Vehicle Depot near the Tamukkam Grounds and Knowledge Centre. Visitors can enjoy joyful moments with a wide variety of traditional and native foods.

- Traditional Folk Art Performances will be held daily:
- July 12: 5:30 PM & 6:30 PM
- July 13: 5:30 PM & 6:30 PM
- July 14: 5:30 PM, and 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
- Competitions for Women and Children:
- Fancy dress competition for children
- Fireless cooking contest
- Kolam (rangoli) competition and drawing contest
- “Chubby Baby” contest
- “Craft from Waste” competition
