₹250 Crore Scam in Madurai Corporation – Who Are the Real Culprits? RP Udhayakumar Demands Answers

The ₹250 crore corruption scandal in Madurai Corporation has sparked widespread concern across Tamil Nadu. Former Minister and AIADMK senior leader RP Udhayakumar has released a video raising pointed questions about who is truly behind this massive scam.

Key Highlights:

  • Madurai’s Status:
Madurai is the third-largest corporation in Tamil Nadu, with over 4.12 lakh properties, including more than 3 lakh commercial buildings.
  • Allegations of Massive Scam:
Experts have claimed that over ₹250 crore in excess revenue was collected through property tax misclassification. Since 2022, many commercial buildings were allegedly taxed as residential properties, causing a massive loss to public revenue.
  • Unprecedented Resignations:
Following internal inquiries, the DMK party leadership directed the resignation of five zonal heads and two standing committee chairpersons—a first in Madurai Corporation’s history, indicating the seriousness of the allegations.
  • Demand for Transparency:
RP Udhayakumar questioned, “Who is truly behind this scam? Who laid the foundation for this corruption?” He emphasized that this couldn’t have happened without the involvement of senior officials or higher-level political backing.
  • Public Outcry and Expectation:
The people of Madurai are deeply concerned and demand that genuine action be taken against those involved, regardless of their political or administrative status. “This must not become another eyewash investigation,” Udhayakumar warned.
  • Call for Government Action:
He urged the ruling DMK government to act decisively, stating, “If the government fails to protect the interests of the people and punish the guilty, the people’s verdict and divine justice will catch up with the wrongdoers.”

Will the State Government act on the ₹250 crore scam or let it fade away like past scandals? The people of Madurai demand answers and justice.
