Aadi Festival at Madurai’s Azhagar Temple to Begin on July 21

The annual Aadi Festival at Arulmigu Sri Kallazhagar Sundararaja Perumal Temple in Madurai district will commence on July 21, 2026, with the ceremonial flag hoisting in the morning. The nine-day religious festival will feature a series of traditional vahana processions, special decorations, and spiritual ceremonies. One of the festival’s major highlights, Lord Kallazhagar’s Horse Vahanam Procession, will be held on July 28, followed by the grand Temple Car (Ther) Festival on July 29. Thousands of devotees from across Tamil Nadu are expected to participate in the celebrations and seek the blessings of Lord Kallazhagar, according to the temple administration.
