Several Trains to Avoid Dindigul Route Due to Track Work

Southern Railway has announced temporary route diversions and operational changes for several express trains passing through Tamil Nadu as extensive track maintenance and engineering works are scheduled in the Salem and Madurai railway divisions. The revised arrangements will remain in effect from Thursday until July 21. Several trains operating towards Kanyakumari, Kerala, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and other destinations will either be diverted through alternate routes or operate only up to designated stations. Railway authorities have advised passengers to verify the latest train schedules before commencing their journeys to avoid inconvenience. The Mayiladuthurai–Salem Express (Train No. 16811) will operate only up to Veerarakkiyam station during the maintenance period. The Palakkad–Tiruchirappalli Express (Train No. 16844) will terminate at Karur, while an unreserved service will be operated between Karur and Tiruchirappalli for passenger convenience.

The Sengottai–Mayiladuthurai Express (16848), Nagercoil–Mumbai CSMT Express (16352), Kanyakumari–Howrah Superfast Express (12666), Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express (16128), Kanyakumari–Hyderabad Special (17070), and Madurai–Bikaner Anuvrat AC Superfast Express (22631) will operate via Manamadurai, Sivaganga, Karaikudi and Pudukkottai on specified dates, bypassing stations such as Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Vadamadurai and Manapparai depending on the respective train schedules.

Southern Railway officials have urged passengers to check the latest train status and revised schedules through official railway information channels before travelling to ensure a smooth journey.
