According to official sources, the Chief Minister emphasized that direct investment from the Union Government in key infrastructure sectors is essential to sustain Tamil Nadu’s fast-paced economic growth. He reportedly highlighted that industrial and business activities are rapidly expanding, particularly in western and southern regions of the state, making the expansion of urban transport systems a necessity. Government officials stated that implementing metro rail services in Hosur, Coimbatore, and Madurai would significantly reduce traffic congestion while also encouraging new industrial and investment opportunities in those regions.
Vijay also requested the Centre to establish institutions of national importance in Tamil Nadu to further strengthen the state’s educational ecosystem and technical capabilities. He stressed that Tamil Nadu continues to play a major role in the country’s industrial and economic output, and therefore requires greater financial and infrastructural support from the Union Government.
