Passengers Advised as Train Routes Shift

Southern Railway has announced route diversions and service changes for several major express trains due to ongoing maintenance work in the Madurai division. The changes will be implemented on specific dates, with certain stations being skipped and trains rerouted through alternate paths, according to an official statement released by railway authorities.

Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Guruvayur, Thoothukudi, Chennai Egmore, Mumbai, Howrah, Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Madurai, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Sholavandan, Manapparai, Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, Tiruchirappalli, Aruppukkottai, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai
Train numbers 16352, 12666, 16128, 17070, 17616 impacted, route diversions on specified dates, temporary skipping of key stations, additional stoppages introduced
Maintenance works in Madurai division, track upgrades and safety improvements, operational adjustments, planned alternate routing
Changes scheduled on dates including 5,9,12,16,19,20,30, 4,11,18,25, 10,17,24, 29, impact on early morning and late-night services, passengers advised to plan ahead, official notification issued

Specifically, trains including Nagercoil–Mumbai (16352), Kanyakumari–Howrah (12666), Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore (16128), Kanyakumari–Hyderabad (17070), and Thoothukudi–Kacheguda (17616) will operate via diverted routes, skipping important stations such as Dindigul and Kodaikanal Road.

Passengers are advised to verify schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly, Southern Railway officials stated.
