Affected Locations and Toll Plazas:
Chennai–Kanyakumari highway, Tiruchi–Salem, Salem–Coimbatore routes, Vandalur–Minjur Outer Ring Road (4 plazas), Madurai Ring Road (2 plazas), East Coast Road, Akkarai, Navalur, Mamallapuram, and a total of 60 toll plazas across Tamil Nadu.
Extent of Hike and Impact:
Toll fee increase of 3% to 5%, higher operating costs for daily freight vehicles, increased travel expenses for government and private buses, additional burden on passenger vehicles, rise in overall transportation costs.
