Jobless Youth Invited to Apply for Allowance

The Madurai District Employment Office has invited unemployed youth to apply for financial assistance under the Tamil Nadu government’s unemployment assistance scheme. In an announcement issued on June 24, the Deputy Director of the Employment Office stated that application forms are being distributed free of cost for eligible candidates who have been registered and waiting for employment opportunities for more than five years. The initiative aims to provide financial support to educated job seekers during their waiting period.

Under this scheme, candidates who have registered their educational qualifications at the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre and continuously renewed their registration are eligible to receive assistance. This applies to individuals ranging from those who have not passed Class 10 to graduates. For persons with disabilities, only one year of registration is sufficient to become eligible.

Scheme Highlights

Madurai District Employment Office, Tamil Nadu Government, District Career Guidance Centre, official employment portal
Monthly financial support for unemployed youth, economic relief for families, career waiting assistance, special disability benefits
Eligibility based on educational registration, five-year waiting period, annual income ceiling of Rs 72,000, age restrictions

The age limit for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is 45 years, while applicants from other communities must be below 40 years. Applicants should have completed their education in Tamil Nadu and should not be engaged in any employment or higher education. Those already receiving financial assistance from other government schemes are also not eligible.

Eligible applicants can download forms through tnvelaivaaippu.gov.in and submit them after completion. Beneficiaries already receiving the allowance must submit self-declaration documents with relevant records directly at the Employment Office. Officials also clarified that the assistance will be provided only for three years and will not affect future government or private job opportunities.

The Deputy Director of the Madurai Employment Office urged all eligible youth to make use of the scheme and obtain further details directly from the district office.
