The Madurai Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple administration has announced that ticket bookings for the grand Thirukalyanam (celestial wedding) scheduled on April 28 will be open from April 19 to April 22. The ceremony, a highlight of the famed Chithirai Festival, will take place between 8:35 AM and 8:59 AM, with arrangements made for devotees from across India and abroad to participate through online and offline booking systems.

The Chithirai Festival will be held from April 18 to April 30, with the Thirukalyanam ceremony conducted at the Thirukalyana Mandapam on North Adi Street. Devotees can book up to two tickets under Rs 500 category and three tickets under Rs 200 category, while booking both categories simultaneously is not permitted. Accurate personal details including date of birth and mobile number are mandatory.
In case of excess applications, a computerized lottery system will be used, and selected applicants will receive confirmation messages on April 23. Confirmed devotees must collect tickets between April 24 and April 27 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Yathrinivas center by paying the required amount.
On the day of the event, entry will be permitted only between 5 AM and 7 AM. Rs 500 ticket holders will enter via the North Rajagopuram, while Rs 200 ticket holders will use designated routes. Devotees must be seated in assigned areas by 7 AM.
The temple administration has urged devotees to strictly follow all guidelines to ensure a smooth and peaceful darshan experience.
