With electricity consumption and power tariffs continuing to rise across households, rooftop solar power systems are emerging as a practical long-term solution for consumers in Tamil Nadu. In this context, Nanayam Vikatan and Darling Solar are jointly organizing an awareness programme titled “Free Electricity on Your Terrace” on May 16 in Madurai. The event aims to educate the public about rooftop solar installations, central government subsidies of up to Rs.78,000, long-term electricity savings, and the process of generating electricity independently at home. Experts will also explain the financial and technical aspects of adopting solar energy systems for residential use.
