Traffic Changes in Madurai Tomorrow

Traffic diversions have been announced across Madurai city on Saturday in view of the visit of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant for the inauguration of the newly constructed integrated district court complex; the police stated that the measures aim to ensure smooth vehicular movement without inconvenience to the public; key arterial roads including Melur Road and surrounding junctions will witness regulated movement; separate diversion plans have been implemented for buses and private vehicles.

Affected Areas:
Melur Road, Madurai District Court Complex, Mattuthavani Bus Stand, Periyar Statue Junction, Goripalayam, Melamadai Junction, Aavin Junction, Aravind Eye Hospital Junction, Kuruvikkaran Salai, Vaigai North Bank Road

Traffic Diversions:
Buses from Mattuthavani diverted via Pal Market Junction, mandatory routing through Melamadai-Aavin-Aravind stretch, two-wheelers and cars rerouted via KK Nagar Arch, regulated flow along Vaigai North Bank Road

Alternate Routes:
Vehicles from Alagarkovil and Natham Roads diverted via Thamukkam to Goripalayam, Panagal Road used to reconnect Melur Road, MM Lodge traffic redirected straight to Goripalayam, Valluvar Statue-Aavin route recommended

Event Details:
New court complex built at Rs.166 crore, 13 courts currently functioning, foundation laid on March 25, 2023, inauguration scheduled at 10:30 AM

Authorities urged the public to follow traffic advisories strictly to avoid congestion and ensure smooth movement during the event.
