Kallazhagar departs from Azhagar Temple towards Madurai this evening

As part of the globally renowned Chithirai Festival in Madurai, Lord Azhagar will depart from Alagar Kovil on the evening of April 29, proceeding toward Madurai city, with the grand ‘Ethirsevai’ scheduled for April 30 and the historic descent into the Vaigai River set for early May 1. The festival, centered around the Meenakshi Amman Temple, showcases the unity of Shaivism and Vaishnavism. The Meenakshi–Sundareswarar celestial wedding ceremony was conducted on April 28 with massive participation from devotees. Today, the temple car procession will take place along Masi streets, while celebrations intensify across the city and at Alagar Kovil.
