The famous Chithirai Festival held at Alagar Kovil, located in the Thirumaliruncholai hills of Madurai district, concluded grandly today (May 5). Lord Kallazhagar returned to the temple and gave final darshan between 10:40 AM and 11:10 AM.
The city of Madurai witnessed several days of grand processions, rituals, and spiritual events, all of which came to a close today. Thousands of devotees gathered at the temple for the final darshan.
Following the iconic event of Lord Kallazhagar entering the Vaigai River, his return created a wave of joy and devotion among the devotees.
The festival processions were carried out as planned through Thirumaliruncholai, Alagar Kovil, Kallandhiri, Appan Thirupathi Mandapam, Moondrumavadi, and Maravar Mandapam.
A massive crowd assembled as Kallazhagar returned, marking a grand conclusion to the procession and final darshan.
On the final day, extensive arrangements were made, including police security, traffic management, and facilities for devotees.
The temple administration ensured smooth coordination and monitoring of all events. Adequate facilities were provided to help devotees have a hassle-free darshan.
With all rituals and ceremonies of the Chithirai Festival successfully completed, a strong sense of spiritual fervor continues to prevail in Madurai.
